Surely I Am No Different From Anyone Else In Wanting An Active Life.
To say that I was an article on health nut would be an understatement but today I try not read anything health related at all. I think it would be fair to say I was a health nut. If you were fat like me and then lost the weight, became fitter then you too might become fixated about your health and with staying fit and healthy. I just had to keep up to date with every new exercise workout, diet ideas and supplements to help prolong my life. You see, I read so many articles on health I started to see the contradictions about what as good for you and what was bad, and they kept changing the rules. You never know what to believe a prime example was that about the benefits of soy which was heavily promoted one day then ridiculed the next for being responsible for food allergies, amongst others. I swear, all I want is to find the perfect diet, the perfect exercise routine, and the perfect lifestyle to keep myself as healthy as I can for as long as I possibly can.
Who and what are you supposed to believe when all you want to do is find a good healthy lifestyle. A prime example of these confusing contradictions is with coffee; chocolate
and alcohol which we’re told were not good for you. Now it turns out that wine is good for you, beer is good for you provided it is dark beer, chocolate is good for you if it is dark chocolate, and even has been found to have some health benefits when used in moderation.
It is just as stupid as saying that dairy ice cream and cake are good cholesterol reducing foods. I suppose what all this has taught me is to take responsibility for my own health and lifestyle. Of course it won’t stop me reading articles on health but in future I will decide how much of it I take notice of.
I think I will still read articles on health because some of the information does make sense but in future I just want to be the judge. Surely I am no different from anyone else in wanting an active life, but I just do not want the constant infringement on my personal freedom that I’ve had over many years from these so called experts.
